Designed in collaboration with legendary cornet player Phillip McCann, this is the newGeneva Heritage Cornet.
Proud to be involved with the British company, Phillip has describes the new Heritage Cornet as greatly exciting because he"truly wants people to love their instruments and, in particular, their cornets,"but above all, his sincere passion is to be party to"providing the greatest choice for our instrumentalists within the brass band movement."
He explained:"The single most important aspect of playing any instrument is sound! This has always been my philosophy in playing/teaching."
With the Heritage Cornet, Phillip McCann seeks to deliver and sustain a tradition in which the facility of virtuoso passage work, with extremes of register and dynamic, are joined with sheer beauty of tone and the ability to control the timbres achievable. With his characteristic single-minded and uncompromising quest for perfection and model consistency, Phillip defines the new Heritage Cornet as:"The complete companion in a quest for musical perfection and, especially, sheer beauty of sound that gets to the heart of what brass playing is all about - THE SOUND."
Excited about his partnership with Geneva and the Company's MD, Tim Oldroyd, Phillip believes that they have created a cornet that truly captures the "sweet spot" and one that gives an unequalled warmth and lyricism, in terms of quality at its heart.
Considering the cornet, and its unique place in musical history and the British brass band culture, he confided:"I did feel strongly about the model name "Heritage", adding, it's for you to find YOUR musical voice and be the best that YOU can be with the "Heritage Cornet", by giving this trailblazing instrument a try. We all need the instrument that will allow us to project our personality through the sound that we create between us - this is the goal for both Geneva and I."
